Living Trauma-Informed: A 1-Day Foundational Somatic Immersion

Understand the stress physiology and related stuck patterns that don't work for you, through the lens of somatic trauma integration. Learn how trauma lives in your nervous system, breath, and muscles, due to unintegrated, thwarted fight, flight, fawn and freeze responses. Understand how you may get stuck "on" (hyperarousal, overriding) or "off" (hypoarousal, numbing and collapsing), both recognizable through physical and mental/emotional symptoms: restricted breath, muscle tension or numbness, poor sleep and digestion, endocrine and mood disorders, and emotional dysregulation.

This one-day immersion will support you to understand how your nervous system works, and give you practical somatic tools to begin to unwind what your body continues to hold onto.

The day includes:

Reconnecting with your body's natural circadian rhythms, including the breathing rhythm to uncover where you hold tension, and begin to release it

Learning what wild animals know about shaking off stress, and strengthening your gut sense (interoceptive wisdom) to reconnect your brain with what's happening inside you

Exploring how early attachment and intergenerational trauma passed down through your family line can still live in your nervous system today and move towards reconciliation

Understanding what trauma is, how fight, flight, freeze, and fawn influence our daily life and how to integrate them

Moving fear, anger, grief/sadness, shame and anxiety through the body instead of continuously thinking about them, including how stuck emotion can become physical tension and pain

Discovering trauma as a doorway to embodied spiritual connection, instead of rising above it, unknowingly, through spiritual bypassing

A younger version of Jaya, as a yoga teacher and practitioner, wished she'd had these nervous system maps and somatic practices to integrate the residual traumatic energy that yoga couldn't reach. This day offers you, the yogi, meditator, therapist, etc. the missing piece: the science of your own nervous system, alongside somatic tools you can use right away for self-regulation. Drawing on Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory, and the attachment work of Dr. Gabor Maté, you'll leave with a nervous system and body reset, including practical ways to discharge survival energy so you can enjoy more calm and aliveness. No trauma background or previous somatic knowledge necessary to attend.

Uncovering Aliveness: 2 Days of Somatic Shadow Work

September 4–5, 2026
9:30am–5:30pm

The IN Movement,
Ubud, Bali

Every subconscious override, way of hiding or bypassing, from spiritual to over-intellectualizing, to the overdoing perfectionist, and relational overriding, was developed to protect us from overwhelm. Yet they also stop us from feeling ourselves and meeting life fully. We may understand what traumatic events happened in our past that led us to performing them, yet we still don't know how to move beyond them and related exhaustion, chronic health conditions and life dissatisfaction. We will explore how awareness of our patterns, somatic tracking, nervous system regulation, interoceptive wisdom, fierce compassion, ancestral practices and connecting with nature, can support us to reconnect with our body, support healthy relationships, and uncover aliveness.

Over these two days, you'll slow down enough to feel what lies underneath overriding and disconnection, and begin to meet your authentic, embodied self.

Day 1: Awareness & Authenticity

  • Recognize your bypass patterns: intellectual, perfection, people-pleasing, spiritual, etc.

  • Somatic Experiencing fundamentals: track sensation and build the capacity to feel rather than flee

  • Discover how cultural masks and shadow live in your body as posture, tension, and emotional holding, and the exhaustion of performing who you think you should be

  • Find your body's authentic "yes" and "no" instead of overriding your boundaries to belong

Day 2: Compassion, Somatic Freedom & Aliveness

  • Look at spiritual bypassing up close: "love and light," premature forgiveness, and numbness disguised as peace, plus reclaim anger, grief, and your full emotional range

  • Practice nervous system regulation: explore your window of tolerance, from shutdown to overwhelm, engage Jaya's L.I.F.T. Method, and invite the natural world to support settling

  • Grow with fierce compassion: discover how adversity can become sacred transformation, supported by ancestral wisdom, while staying connected to your humanity

  • Weave it all together into a personal resilience kit you can take home and use daily
